Does Digits do my taxes?

Digits will help get your finances in order so that come tax time your books are ready for filing. While Digits itself does not file your taxes for you, you can export the tax package to give it to your tax preparer or use one of our accounting Partners who can support your year round tax needs – everything from 1099s, state and federal filings, to R&D tax studies.

Who enters the transaction details?

Digits has trained dozens of AI models to understand transactions, gather available context, and enter them into Digits for you from any of the connected sources (banks, cards, payroll, etc). Digits AI assists in booking these transactions to the appropriate category on your ledger's chart of accounts.

Do I need an accountant if I use Digits?

Using an accountant is entirely up to you.

Digits automates your bookkeeping in real time, giving you accurate, decision-ready financials every day. But when it's time to prepare verified financials—the version trusted by investors, lenders, and tax authorities—you may want a professional to review and validate your books.
